Colin Andersen, Chief Executive Officer, Ontario Power Authority (OPA)
Colin Andersen was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) in September 2008. Prior to joining the OPA, Mr. Andersen held a variety of senior financial and policy positions in the Ontario Public Service. Most recently, he was Deputy Minister, Ontario Ministry of Finance; Secretary of Treasury Board; Deputy Minister, Ontario Ministry of Revenue; Chair of the Ontario Financing Authority and Chair of the Ontario Electricity Financial Corporation. He has also served as Deputy Minister of Policy, Cabinet Office and Acting Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. |

Perrin Beatty, President and CEO, The Canadian Chamber of Commerce (Canada)
The Honourable Perrin Beatty is President and Chief Executive Officer of Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters. Perrin Beatty was elected to the House of Commons as a Progressive Conservative in 1972 and was appointed Minister of State (Treasury Board) in 1979. He held six additional portfolios in subsequent governments, including National Revenue in 1984, Solicitor General in 1985, National Defence in 1986, Health and Welfare in 1989, Communications in 1991, and Secretary of State for External Affairs in 1993. Following the 1993 federal election, Mr. Beatty joined a number of private sector boards and worked as a consultant in the field of communications. In 1995 Mr. Beatty was appointed President and CEO of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and assumed his current position on August 15, 1999. In January 2002, Mr. Beatty became the Business Co-Chair of the Canadian Labour and Business Centre. |

Compton Bourne, President, Caribbean Development Bank (Caribbean)
Dr. Bourne’s experience as academic researcher and advisor/consultant spans the fields of development banking, macroeconomic policy, human resource development, and higher education policy and management. He worked as an international consultant to governments, multilateral banks and organizations like the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Caribbean Community Secretariat as well as the Caribbean Regional Negotiation Machinery. As the President of the Caribbean Development Bank President, Dr. Bourne allowed the Bank to meet the challenges of helping to transform Caribbean economies to eradicate poverty within the framework of sustainable development. Dr. Bourne has also been Pro-Vice Chancellor and later Principal of the St. Augustine Campus of the University of the West Indies. |

Bill Boyd, Minister of Energy and Ressources of Saskatchewan
Bill Boyd is one of the founding members of the Saskatchewan Party and has been involved on the Saskatchewan political scene for nearly two decades. Mr. Boyd was the MLA for the Kindersley constituency from 1991 until he stepped down in 2002. Originally elected in 1991 as a Progressive Conservative MLA, Mr. Boyd became the leader of that party in 1994. He was re-elected in 1995. In 1997, he and three of his colleagues joined with four Liberal MLAs and founded the Saskatchewan Party. When re-elected in 1999, he was one of 26 MLAs elected under the Saskatchewan Party banner. He was once again elected in the Kindersley constituency in the 2007 provincial election. |

Jim Bradley, Minister of Transportation, Ontario
The Honourable Jim Bradley is among the most experienced and highly respected members of the Ontario legislature. He was first elected in 1977 and re-elected in eight consecutive campaigns in the riding of St. Catharines. Minister Bradley has held senior positions in both government and opposition. In October of 2003, Minister Bradley was chosen by Premier McGuinty to serve as Minister of Tourism and Recreation. In June 2005, Mr. Bradley was appointed Minister of Tourism, Minister Responsible for Seniors, Minister Responsible for the Greenbelt Foundation and the Oak Ridges Moraine Foundation. Michel Brunet
Michel A. Brunet, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, has more than 30 years of experience in selling, acquiring and financing businesses. A much sought-after lecturer and panelist on matters pertaining to corporate law, Mr. Brunet sits on the boards of several charitable organizations. In 2002, he was appointed Honorary Vice-Consul for the Principality of Monaco in Montréal. Mr. Brunet joined FMC 1994 as a partner and was appointed Managing Partner in 1999, a responsibility that he held until February 2001. He is a chartered accountant who has over 30 years of experience in general management, project management and financial management in the International Aerospace, Defence and Rail sectors. Paul Côté, President and CEO, VIA Rail Canada
Paul Côté was appointed President and CEO of VIA Rail Canada in March of 2005. Born in Sherbrooke, Québec in 1951, Mr. Côté is a graduate of the Université de Montréal. He joined Canadian National Railway in 1972 and moved to VIA in 1978, where he has led a number of departments, including Marketing, Human Resources, Public Affairs, Labour Relations and Operations. Richard Crotty, Mayor of Orange County (Orlando)
Richard Crotty grew up in Orlando, attending Orange County public schools, Valencia Community College and the University of Central Florida (then known as Florida Technological University) where he majored in Public Administration and Communications. The year following his graduation from UCF, Mr. Crotty was selected to the prestigious Florida Legislative Staff Internship program where he attended Florida State University completing a graduate level executive program in Public Administration. While in Tallahassee, Mr. Crotty worked on the Senate Staff and completed his service as a member of the United. Gary Doer, Premier of Manitoba
On October 5th, 1999, Gary Doer became Manitoba’s 20th Premier. Since then he has been twice re-elected, and twice have Manitobans increased the number of seats held by his majority government. Premier Doer has overseen a balanced budget every year since 1999. His strong fiscal management has been recognized by credit agencies such as Moody’s Investor Services and Standard and Poor’s. Under Premier Doer’s leadership, Manitoba’s unemployment and youth unemployment rates have been among the lowest in the country, job growth has almost doubled and private investment growth has consistently increased. Janet Ecker, President, Toronto Financial Services Alliance (Canada)
Janet L. Ecker has a proven track record of accomplishment inside and outside government in public policy and public affairs. As former Ontario Finance Minister, she managed some of the toughest files from social services and education, to economic policy and public-private partnerships. After leaving political life, she joined the law firm of LeDrew Laishley Reed as Advisor. In June 2007, she joined the project and change management firm, Tramore Group, as their advisor on public policy, governance and public-private sector relationships. She is also President of the Toronto Financial Services Alliance, a public–private partnership created by Toronto and the financial sector to promote the region’s financial services industry. Anne Golden, President and CEO, Conference Board of Canada
Anne Golden, Ph.D., C.M., has been President and CEO of The Conference Board of Canada since October 2001. Previous to that, Dr. Golden served as President of The United Way of Greater Toronto for 14 years. Author of numerous publications on public policy issues, Dr. Golden has held research positions including Director of Policy Research for the Ontario Liberal Party (1981-82), Special Advisor to the Provincial Leader of the Opposition (1978-81) and Research Coordinator for the Bureau of Municipal Research (1973-78). In 2003, Dr. Golden’s commitment to social justice was recognized in her appointment by the Governor General as a Member of the Order of Canada. She has received honorary doctorates from Royal Roads University (2005), the University of Toronto (2002), York University (2000) and Ryerson Polytechnic University (1997). Mary Jo Haddad, President and CEO, The Hospital for Sick Children (Canada)
Mary Jo Haddad was appointed in November, 2004, President and CEO of The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Canada’s most research intensive hospital dedicated to improving children’s health in the country. She began her career at SickKids in 1984 as an assistant manager in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of SickKids and held after several leadership positions prior to her appointment as President and CEO. Ms. Haddad holds a number of Board appointments and Chair roles including Chair of the Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network (TAHSN); Vice Chair, Council of Academic Hospitals of Ontario (CAHO); as well as Chair of the Provincial Council for Children’s Health (PCCH). She was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Windsor. Mitsuo Higashi, Director, International Department, East Japan Railway Company
Mitsuo Higashi joined Japanese National Railways in 1979 and was in charge of planning to improve the financial management of freight service at the headquarters. At the time of the division and privatization of the Japanese National Railways, he became a member of the Marketing Dept. of East Japan Railway Company. In 1992 he was dispatched to the U.S. management office of Japan Airlines in New York, and was involved in introducing the FFP (Frequent Flyer Program) to Japan Airlines. After he came back to Japan in 1997, he was assigned to the Marketing Dept of the East region of the Tokyo Metropolitan area and then to the Public Relations Dept at the headquarters. In 2001, he was dispatched to New York again as the Executive Director of the New York Office of the Japan Railways Group and East Japan Railway Company. He became General Manager of the Public Relations Dept. in 2004 and Director of the newly established Customer Service Dept. in 2005. Rodolfo Huici, Principal Transportation Specialist, Inter-American Development Bank (Argentina)
Rodolfo Huici is Senior Transport Economist at the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), position he has held for over fifteen years, leading transport related projects across the entire Latin America and Caribbean region. Before joining the IADB in 1993 he worked for a diverse range of organizations in the field of transportation, both within the public and the private sector in his home country, Argentina. In public office he held the position of National Sub Secretary of Transportation and Director of the Urban Planning Council of Buenos Aires. Megan Jamieson, B.Sc. M.A., Director, ICLEI Canada Office
Megan Jamieson is the Director of the ICLEI Canada Office, located in Toronto, Ontario. As Director she is responsible for all of ICLEI’s national operational and program activities. She is also a member of the organization’s international senior management team. Megan has been with ICLEI since 1999, over which time she has held many rolls related to ICLEI’s program activities in strategic energy planning, climate mitigation and adaptation, as well as sustainability management. Her work now as Director focuses on the strategic development of ICLEI’s Canadian activities and in building the capacity of local governments across Canada to meet their sustainability goals. Armand Laferrère, President and CEO, AREVA Canada
Armand Laferrère was appointed as President of AREVA Canada Inc. in July 10, 2006. He joined the AREVA Group in 2004 as Vice President, Strategy and Audit for AREVA NP, in charge of coordinating acquisition, disposition and joint-venture projects worldwide, managing the company’s Internal Audit and Strategy teams and being Secretary to the meetings of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Before joining the AREVA Group, Mr. Laferrère had a career as a senior civil servant in the French Court of Auditors – with a one-year secondment to the British National Office in London – then in the French Treasury. From 2002 to 2004, he was a personal advisor to Nicolas Sarkozy (then the French Minister of the Interior) in charge of the Department’s budget and public service reforms. Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, President, SNCF International (France)
Jean-Pierre Loubinoux is a graduate from Ecole Centrale de Paris. He joined SNCF in 1978 where he held several positions of responsibility, such as Director of SNCF General Representation in North America and Managing Director of French Railways Ltd in the UK. Rob MacIsaac, Chair of Metrolinx
As the first Chair of Metrolinx, Rob MacIsaac is responsible for leading a Board of Directors to plan, prioritize and integrate transportation systems across the Greater Toronto Area and Hamilton. During his term as Mayor of the City of Burlington, Committed to the economic development of the GTA, Mr. MacIsaac has led several trade missions on behalf of the Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance (GTMA). In May 2002, he received a GTA Leadership Award from the GTMA. First elected to Burlington municipal council in November 1991, Mr. MacIsaac served two terms as a councillor. In 1997, he was elected Mayor of Burlington and acclaimed for two more terms. In March 2006, he did not seek re-election. Mr. MacIsaac completed his undergraduate degree in Economics at the University of Waterloo in 1984 and received a Law degree at the University of Western Ontario in 1987. He was called to the Bar in 1989. |

Hugh MacDiarmid was appointed President & CEO of Atomic Energy of Canada on January 2008. He comes to AECL with a broad range of executive and professional experience spanning his 30-year career. Mr. MacDiarmid has operating executive experience in larger corporations such as Canadian Pacific Railway and Laidlaw International Inc. He has also worked in smaller and mid-sized enterprises, serving as President & CEO of Lumonics Inc., a Canadian manufacturer of laser systems, and, more recently, as Managing Director of Holden America LLC, a railway components supply business. In the public sector, he served as Chairman of the Board of the Public Policy Forum and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ottawa General Hospital. Lloyd McCoomb, President and CEO, Greater Toronto Airports Authority (Canada)
Dr. Lloyd A. McCoomb has over thirty years experience in transportation management. He began his career in 1964 with the Canadian Armed Forces, Military Engineering Branch. He joined Transport Canada in 1974 as a Senior Development Officer with the Transportation Development Agency, Montreal. In 1983 he became Director, Statistics and Forecasts with the Air Administration in Ottawa. He joined the Airports Group in 1986 and over the next seven years served as the Director General of Marketing, Director General of Safety and Technical Services and Project Manager Major Crown Projects at Lester B. Pearson International Airport. From March 1994 to the creation of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) in December 1996 Dr. McCoomb held the post of Airport General Manager, Lester B. Pearson International Airport. On February 1, 2007 Dr. McCoomb was appointed to the position of GTAA President and Chief Executive Officer. |

Dalton McGuinty, Premier of Ontario (Canada)
Dalton McGuinty led his party to a second-consecutive majority government in October 2007. He is Ontario’s 24th Premier. He was first elected to the Ontario legislature in 1990 in Ottawa South and has been re-elected four times. During his years as a backbench MPP, he served as a critic for energy, colleges and universities, native affairs and the environment. In 1996, Dalton McGuinty was elected leader of the Ontario Liberal Party. His first election campaign as leader was in 1999, when the Liberal party received 40 per cent of the popular vote, winning 35 seats and adding nine new caucus members. In the general election of 2003, Dalton McGuinty’s Liberals formed the government, taking 72 seats with 47 per cent of the vote. Before entering politics, Dalton McGuinty practised law in Ottawa. He has a law degree from the University of Ottawa and a science degree from McMaster University in Hamilton. |

Matt McManus, Division Chief, Energy Producer Country Affairs, U.S. Department of State
Matthew T. McManus serves in Washington as the Chief of the Division of Energy Producer Country Affairs, in the Department of State’s Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs. Mr. McManus began his career at the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York, working for the Less Developed Countries Portfolio Sector of Chase International in 1988. He joined the Department of State in 1990 as a “Presidential Management Intern,” a post-graduate management training program. He has worked as a NAFTA negotiator, on the NAFTA energy and government procurement chapters, as an OPEC analyst, and as the Western Hemisphere energy analyst. He participates in the annual “Energy Consultative Mechanism” between the U.S. and Canada, and in the “North American Energy Working Group” with U.S., Canada, and Mexico, as well as well as on the management committee of the U.S. Brazil Biofuels Initiative. |

Manuel A. Mencia, Senior Vice-president, International Trade and Business Development ENTERPRISE FLORIDA, INC.
Manuel (Manny) A. Mencia, is Sr. Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the International Trade and Business Development unit of Enterprise Florida, Inc., a not-for-profit government business partnership established to guide the development of Florida’s economy. Mr. Mencia joined Enterprise Florida in 1996. Prior to that he served as Vice President of World Marketing at The Beacon Council between 1992 and 1996. He has acquired extensive international trade expertise, having served in various executive positions at the Florida Department of Commerce between 1977 and 1991. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National States’ International Development Organization (SIDO), Florida Export Finance Corporation, World Trade Center-Miami, Florida Trade Partners Alliance, Southeast U.S.- Japan and the Florida District Export Council. In 2003, the International Business Council of South Florida named him International Businessman of the Year. |

David Miller, Mayor of Toronto (Canada)
Metro councillor in 1994, and in 1997 he was elected to the new City of Toronto council where he served two terms. In November 2003, Torontonians chose David Miller as their new mayor and in November 2006, he was re-elected for a second four-year term. Lisa Raitt, Minister of Natural Ressources of Canada
The Honourable Lisa Raitt is the Member of Parliament for Halton, Ontario, where she was first elected in 2008. She was appointed as Minister of Natural Resources by the Right Honourable Stephen Harper, on October 29, 2008. Until her election, Minister Raitt was the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Toronto Port Authority (TPA), responsible for leading the Canadian federal corporation that manages commerce, transportation (including the Toronto City Centre Airport) and recreation in the Toronto harbour. In 2008, she was elected Chair of the Association of Canadian Port Authorities. She had previously served as the TPA’s chief counsel, and Harbourmaster. Minister Raitt pursued education first in science, graduating with a B.Sc. from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, and an M.Sc. in Chemistry, specialized in environmental biochemical toxicology, from the University of Guelph (Ontario). She then proceeded to earn her LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School. Upon her call to the bar in 1998, she was honoured as a Dr. Harold G. Fox Scholar and trained with barristers in the United Kingdom who specialized in international trade, commerce, transportation and arbitration. |

Gil Rémillard, Founding Chairman, Toronto Forum for Global Cities
Gil Rémillard was the Québec Member of the National Assembly for Jean-Talon from December 1985 to January 1994 and held the positions of International Relations Minister, Public Security Minister, Justice Minister, Attorney General and Minister Responsible for Canadian Intergovernmental Affairs. Mr. Rémillard is now a professor at the École nationale d’administration publique (ÉNAP) and Counsel for the law firm of Fraser Milner Casgrain. Mr. Rémillard holds a Ph.D in law and is a Doctor Honoris Causa of the Université d’Aix-Marseille. In 1994, Gil Rémillard was awarded the Médaille du Barreau du Québec, the highest honour awarded by this institution. In 2001, he has been appointed Member of the Order of Canada; In 2002, he was awarded The Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal; In 2004, he was appointed Knight of the “Ordre national du Québec” and Knight of “l’Ordre de la Légion d’honneur” by the President of the French Republic. |

Michael Rolland, President & CEO Borealis Infrastructure
Prior to his appointment as President & Chief Executive Officer of Borealis, Mr. Rolland held the position of Senior Vice President at Borealis where he was directly responsible for originating, structuring and managing infrastructure investments. Mr. Rolland developed the unique financing structures for the new William Osler Health Centre in Brampton and the redevelopment of the Royal Ottawa Hospital project. He also directed Borealis’ investment in Extendicare (Canada) and he was the lead on the recent purchase of MDS Diagnostics by Borealis. Prior to his role with Borealis, Michael Rolland was a Director at NewCap Financial Inc., a private financial advisory firm. He was responsible for leading the corporate and structured financing practice at NewCap. He also spent six years as a Director and senior member of the investment-banking group within one of Canada’s largest non-bank lenders (Newcourt Credit Group Inc. – now known as CIT). Mr. Rolland holds an Honours Business Administration Degree from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and is a Chartered Accountant. |

John W. Snow, Former Secretary of the Treasury (U.S.)
President George W. Bush nominated John William Snow to be the 73rd Secretary of the Treasury on January 13, 2003. The United States Senate unanimously confirmed Snow to the position on January 30, 2003 and he was sworn into office on February 3, 2003. Before coming to Treasury, Snow was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CSX Corporation. During Snow’s twenty years at CSX, he led the Corporation to refocus on its core railroad business, dramatically reduce injuries and train accidents, and improve its financial performance. Snow’s held a variety of senior positions at the Department of Transportation. Snow served as Chairman of the Business Roundtable, the foremost business policy group comprised of 250 chief executive officers of the nation’s largest companies. During his tenure as Chairman from 1994 through 1996, he played a major role in supporting passage of the North American Free Trade Agreement and working on the deficit reduction agreement. |
